Medux joins forces with English family company Medequip – Medux

March 26, 2024

UTRECHT – Medux is pleased to announce the formalization of its collaboration with the family-owned business Medequip in England, as previously announced on January 4th. The partnership with Medequip has received approval from all relevant parties, and the contract was signed on February 22nd.

Medequip is the leading supplier of equipment services and mobility aids to municipalities and the National Health Service (NHS) in England. Through its product offerings, Medequip supports individuals in safely maintaining independent living at home for an extended period.

Headquartered in Harmondsworth, near Heathrow Airport, Medequip employs over 1,000 professionals who annually serve more than 1.3 million customers benefiting from Medequip’s services, allowing them to leave the hospital earlier and live independently at home for an extended period. In 2021, Medequip achieved a revenue of £200 million.

“This is a significant step,” says Jop Pollmann, CEO of Medux. “We are expanding our presence in the European assistive devices market, a market that is rapidly growing due to aging demographics and government policies promoting longer independent living—an evolution we are familiar with and see as an opportunity.”

Enhancing service provision through the collaboration and geographical expansion, Medux and Medequip aim to strengthen their service provision to a broad customer base. In the Netherlands, Medux, through its brands Medipoint, HartingBank, and Atlas Kidtech, annually delivers over 1.5 million care and rehabilitation assistive devices. These devices contribute to the well-being and mobility of Dutch healthcare consumers and support healthcare professionals in patient and client care. Both organizations focus on keeping healthcare affordable and accessible through efficient service delivery with high satisfaction levels among end-users, prescribers, and clients.

Trust James Ibbotson, CEO of Medequip, looks forward to the collaboration with Medux. “This contributes to the growth of our company. Sharing knowledge and leveraging Medux’s experience as a market leader in the Netherlands helps us further expand. Medux has proven itself in the Dutch market for equipment services and mobility aids. Through this collaboration, we face the future with great confidence.”

Both country organizations will continue to operate independently of each other.
