MEDEQUIP COMPANIES ADD OVER £130M NEW BUSINESS IN THE UK IN 2024
Medux Group companies in the UK operating under the Medequip banner have been successful in adding to their individual portfolios to date this year, winning new contracts worth £134m in addition to contract renewals worth over £90m during the first half of 2024.
Medequip, the UK’s leading supplier of community equipment services, accounts for more than £120m of the headline figure. New contracts include the Warwickshire Community Equipment Loan Service, commissioned by Warwickshire County Council and the NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board, and the Cornwall Community Equipment Loan Service contract, jointly funded by Cornwall Council and NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board (ICB).
In addition to these new business wins, Medequip has retained all existing contracts tendered this year, securing a minimum of £45m over the new contract terms. The company is also pleased to announce that included in the renewals figure is the Wirral Independence Service contract, which Medequip has managed since 2015, commissioned by Wirral Council and NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board (ICB).
Wheelchair services specialists Ross Care, who became part of the Medequip group in 2023, have added new business worth over £10m. New contracts include the London Borough of Barnet and wheelchair services for Warwickshire County Council.
Contracts successfully retained this year worth over £45m include wheelchair services across Kent, the city of Sheffield and also the Wirral and Ellesmere Port, St Helens & East Cheshire service, a contract Rosscare is proud to have managed on the Wirral peninsula for an impressive 52 years.
Medequip Connect, the Technology Enabled Care (TEC) arm of Medequip, continues to evidence robust growth, adding contracts worth almost £4m in the first half of this year. This includes one of the most complex and challenging TEC contracts ever implemented in the UK, future proofing alarm call services for vulnerable people in line with the analogue to digital switchover currently under way across the country.
Medequip Connect is also working alongside Medequip to deliver the latest digital technologies to support independence, health and wellbeing as part of the Wirral Independence Service contract.
